50 Party Themes For Adults

50 party themes for adults

Whenever I’m planning a party, the first thing I do is choose a theme. Partly because it makes it so much easier for me to plan the rest of the party (I can then simply choose food, drinks and decorations to loosely fit the theme) but mainly because I know that most people l-o-v-e themed parties!

There are a lot of fun party ideas out there, many of them perfect for kids or college parties, but if you’re looking for something a bit more grown up than a Frozen theme and more unique than a classic Toga shindig, here are my top 50 party themes for adults:

I am seriously considering a 1985 themed party for my 30th this year. The 80’s are such a terribly fun theme to dress up as! And the music rocks!

I think a 1985 theme would be heaps of fun! We hosted a big 80’s party at our house about 5 years ago and it was really awesome. Everyone got into the theme and dressed up in all kinds of crazy 80’s inspired costume (I was Jem). I made a bunch of nostalgia food (like fairy bread) and cheesy cocktails (B52’s, jello shots and cuba libres) and we danced to 80’s music all night. Best night ever! Have a blast!

The I cant believe you wore that out party… oh I so want to have one of them lol xx

We did something along those lines for my 29th (the dress code was ‘Stand out from the Crowd’) and started the festivities by playing lawn bowls in our costumes at a local club. I think the other people at the club found us VERY entertaining. Haha.

  • Lucy @ Bake Play Smile

Having just finished the last Mad Men season I would totally throw one of those parties! Love these great ideas!

I miss Mad Men already. I especially loved the costumes in the first few seasons, the ladies looked so beautiful!

I would love to have a ugly sweater / christmas in July party seeing as you can’t really have it at Christmas here due to the weather.

Me too! I always feel a bit weird cooking a ham or turkey in 35+ degree weather haha. Also, mulled wine just does not work in summer…
