Homemade Bliss: 8 Gorgeous Beauty Recipes For A DIY Spa Day

8 gorgeous recipes for a diy spa day

As much as I’d love to be able to spend every weekend hanging out at the spa, my wallet sadly doesn’t match up to my wild dreams of leisure. Never one to give up on life’s little pleasures though I’ve been looking into creating my own spa experience lately and on how to do my own beauty treatments at home. Turns out, it’s really not that difficult to put a sugar scrub or body butter together!

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite beauty recipes below. I’m thinking a few of these + a girly movie + a few of my friends and we’d have the perfect girls party!

♥ Lemon, mint and rose petal foot soak

herbal foot soak with feet and spoon

Every spa experience should start with a nice foot soak, right? It’s the perfect way to unwind and get into a pampering mood. This easy recipe uses Epsom salts combined with slices of lemon, mint leaves and rose petals. So relaxing.. (Via Gardenista)

♥ Lemon & Peppermint foot scrub

Now that your feet are nice and clean it’s time to give them a good scrub. I chose a recipe using similar ingredients to the foot soak. This will not only reduce costs but also make your feet smell like fresh lemon and peppermint! (Via Essie Button)

♥ DIY French Manicure and Pedicure

A simple french style manicure always looks very chic. This tutorial teaches you how to nail the classic look at home (see how I did there?) and the same rules can be applied for a pedicure. You can also vary the colors if you’re feeling like something more bold! (via She Knows)

♥ Brown sugar scrub

With feet now worthy of Cinderellas it’s time to exfoliate the rest of your body. I love the simplicity of this recipe which only uses coconut oil and brown sugar. You can also use it on your face and lips as long as you’re very gentle. (Via The idea Room)

♥ Coconut Body Butter

Coconut oil is having a major moment which isn’t surprising since it’s not only good for your health but for your body as well. This whipped coconut body butter sounds really amazing. It combines coconut oil, honey and orange zest but I’ve also seen many recipes which only use coconut oil. No matter which option you choose, you can be sure that your skin will be left wonderfully smooth and soft. (Via She wears many hats)

♥ Chocolate and Oatmeal Facial mask

Once you’ve given your face a gentle scrub using the (brown sugar scrub above) and washing it off apply a warm cloth over your face for a few minutes. Then apply a generous layer of this facial mask and leave it on for 10 min. This recipe is so good you’ll want to eat it! (Via Gourmande in the kitchen)
