There’s nothing like the smell of hot crossed buns baking in your oven and filling your house up with the sweet aromas of candied peel and cinnamon. As my honey does not care much for sultanas (and I think he’s not the only one here) I decided to break with tradition this year and to fill my buns with orange peel and chocolate chips instead. It was a delicious variation and should make for a lovely wake-up call on Good Friday.
NB. I adapted this recipe by omitting the cocoa and raising the amount of candied peel and chocolate chips.
