How can March be here already? I mean, didn’t we just celebrate New Year’s Eve? Where did the time go? And what do you mean Christmas is only 42 weeks away, eeeeek!
Every time I start stressing out about time just swooshing me by (perhaps this is just some form of thirty-itis?) my Father always tells me not to worry about it because ‘if times are going fast then they are going well’. Although I agree with him (I’d sure rather have too many things to do than be bored to death) I also think that it’s important to sometimes slow down and take the time to reflect on the good times and your accomplishments. This is why I decided to launch this new column – a monthly round up of everything that I loved, that inspired me or that just made me happy!
I’d love to hear about your month’s highlights as well! Are you ready to take March by storm?
♥ I went to two amazing and very different art exhibitions: ‘Who Shot Rock & Roll’ and ‘Sculpture on the Gulf’. I literally squealed when I saw a french bulldog on the tracks – potentially scaring both the owner and the dog for life.
♥ I picked fresh passion fruits from my friend’s garden, look out for my next cocktail post!
♥ Mark and I celebrated Valentine’s Day by watching ‘The Princess Bride’ at Silo Park (which doubles up as a fantastic open air cinema). I also got to eat Hungarian Fried Bread, a handful of deep fried goodness topped with fresh tomatoes, feta and basil. Highlight of the month, hands down.
♥ I attended the launch of the NZ Blog Collective and met a whole bunch of amazing and oh-so-inspiring ladies.
♥ I ‘ooohed’ and ‘aaaahed’ at the Chinese Lantern Festival – so wish I could have taken some of the beautiful displays home (because everyone needs a lantern fest in their backyards)
♥ I bathed in the sun and went for late afternoon walks with my honey. I also lost a couple of kilos in the process, yay!
♥ I made a pile of crepes for ‘Crepes Day’ – yeah I know what you’re thinking ‘way to ruin the walking!’ but you know what? the simple pleasure of licking the lemony sugar off my fingers made it all worth it -)
♥ And last but not least: Mark and I decided to go and live in Melbourne!!!!
Life is about to get even more exciting.
