Fig Old Fashioned Cocktail

fig old fashioned 1

It’s fig season here in Australia which means fig salads (I’m currently obsessed with this one), honey roasted figs with yogurt and pistachio, and of course, fig cocktails! ;)

This is one of Mr Mayhem’s personal favorite and although Bourbon is not my top spirit I have to admit I love it in this particular concoction. Balsamic vinegar may seem like a strange addition but trust me, it just works and it’s what really sets this mix apart from the classic old fashioned.

Combined with maple syrup, this just makes for the perfect autumn cocktail really…which is great because I need all the help I can get to get over my denial about summer being officially over.
