Hi lovelies! I’m currently traveling through France and since I’m moving around a lot for the first few days of my trip I’ve asked some of my favorite bloggers to hold down the Pretty Mayhem fort for me until next week.Today we have a guest post by my gorgeous stylist friend Caitlin from Chasing Cait.
You’re gorgeous leader Pearl has asked me to write her a guest style post while she’s off galivanting around Europe (oh what a life)! And since she is the party queen, I thought I’d stick with that and show you five amazing party frocks you can get your hands on right now no matter where you are, and what season it is.
Want to know the trick for what to wear to a party? Be comfortable!
Yep, that’s right. If you feel good in what you are wearing, and don’t fiddle and fidget, then you will look good. Anything too tight, too high (I’m talking heels and hems here ladies) or too OTT won’t have the impact you want if you don’t think you can pull it off so stay true to your style and own your party frock.
Here are some of my faves from on-the-line that you can get your mitts on right now and smash it at your next party.
The Little Black Dresses
If in doubt, the LBD is the perfect choice. Whether you’re a guest to a do, or you’re playing the role of hostess, an LBD is always an elegant sophisticated choice. Here are three of my faves.
It even has the occasion right in the name! The shape is timeless and the gold spots add a little fun to the frock. Dress it up for a cocktail party with some gold heels, or dress is down for an intimate gathering at home with some cute ballet flats.
2. Eliza J “polka dot dress” from Nordstrom
So elegant this dress. The spots give it a sexy edge, but your arms are covered if that’s what you need. A timeless piece that will stay in your wardrobe for a long time.
3. Boohoo “cutaway midi dress”
This gorgeous creation will flatter any body shape and the scuba fabric gives you heaps of support (so no jiggly bits!). Make it your own by adding accessories of your choice.
The Statement Makers
Sometimes you just want to make a statement at a party, and what better way to do it with a fabulous frock!
1. Mod Cloth “Gala Grandeur” maxi dress
This maxi is simply beautiful, but it also doesn’t scream ball-gown. You could totally rock this at a more casual do with some delicate wedges and relaxed makeup.
2. Chi Chi London Premium Lace “Midi Prom Dress” from Asos
This is the dress or all party dresses (and I LOVE the price! So affordable). It is deilcate and beautiful and will have heads turning as soon as you walk in the door.
It’s such a flattering shape for most figures and will flatter most skintones too. Pure gold. I’m in LOVE.
So five party frocks, all with something special about them, now all you need is the invitation…. I’m guessing mine’s in the mail?
In frocks always,
