It Must Have Been Love: A 90’s Valentine’s Day Mixtape

I hadn’t originally planned on doing another V-day Post. After writing a Valentine’s Day date ideas post and making glitter cake pops on Friday I kind of felt we were good on the love front. That is, until I heard that 8 tracks had set out a Valentine’s day mixtape challenge called ‘90’s slow dance‘. What?!!! An opportunity to indulge in my favorite, cheesiest love songs from my all time favorite decade? I mean, how could I pass that up?

This mixtape turned out to be quite the trip down memory lane for me. These songs used to be played at every single party I went to as a teenager and hearing them definitely took me back. I can just remember how my friends and I used to nervously wait for Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston to come on at parties so that we could finally ‘slow dance’ with the boys we liked. I can’t help but cringe a little when I think about how awkward we must have all looked just standing there with our arms around each other but I guess at the time it all felt very ‘grown-up’ and romantic.

I may even have had my first kiss to one of these songs. Then again, I probably shouldn’t kiss and tell…

Did you use to ‘slow dance’ at parties to? What’s your favorite 90’s slow jam?
